Why should I submit to 1600+ journalists and newspapers nationwide?
Publicity is the most cost effective marketing tool and the only one that helps to build credibility for your company. Advertising costs more and most people realize that they are reading hype. However, most people trust independent media journalists, columnists, and the like. By sending out a press release, you give these journalists, who the public trust, the opportunity to present your news to the public. A well written release that is presented to the public by the media can greatly increase your sales, expose your company to the masses, and enhance the image of your business or products.

What makes a good Press Release Title?
Create a title headline that immediately conveys why your news is important. Avoid promotional sounding words, but do try to catch the reporter's eye. What you say here determines whether the reader will read the rest of the release. Click here to see examples.

What should I put in the body of my Press Release?
A press release needs to be concise and to the point. The first paragraph should be a summary of your news, answering the 'Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How' within just a few sentences. The remainder of the release should expand upon the first paragraph giving important details, without fluff. When deciding whether you should submit your news, first make sure that it is newsworthy. Is it something that the public wants to know about? Is it something that journalists will want to write about? Something to note is that it often helps to relate your news to current events if possible. When writing your release, keep these things in mind:
  • Is your topic newsworthy? Make sure that you have a story of substance.
  • Does your audience know that the information is intended for them and that they should continue to read it?
  • Can you relate your news to any current events?
  • Have you written in a way that people can relate and connect?
  • Did you deal with the facts and avoid excessive use of adjectives and fancy language?
  • Did you make it as easy as possible for the media to do their jobs by putting *all* of the necessary information in the release?
  • Did you include detailed contact information for journalists to get in touch with you for additional information?

What should I put in the 'About My Company' section?
You should include a brief company summary. Be sure to include information about your products or services that will help establish your expertise. Also mention your location, years in business, and any other pertinent information. Be sure to keep it short and concise, but detailed.

Who should I put as a press contact?
Your press contact should be someone who is familiar with your business and the information that you are releasing. This person should be available via all contact methods that you submit. Provide as much contact information as possible: Individual to contact, address, phone, fax, email, Web site address.

How many words can I submit?
